Molinator vs lobos triple S pillow

looking for feedback on both. The triple S is tempting because it cuts out parts of my system while giving me a better shooting surface on the pack. The molinator looks like for straight shooting it would be better but does less. I just want my arca rail to slide around less and be able to settle the rifle down into a bag

How does the SSS actually sleep compared to a pillow?

My current sit pad and pillow are about 13oz, and adding the molinator in puts it at 20oz combined compared to the SSS at 7 oz and possibly an argali dream pillow to stuff it in, leaves around a 10 oz difference. 10 ounces does not deter me either way if it’s noticeably better in some regard. But if both do pretty well considering my shots are all sub 250 with an open sight muzzle loader the SSS makes more sense.

I have used both and carry the SSS. As a shooting bag the only thing I found the molinator did better was help stay on target in odd shooting positions. The cradle stops the rifle from sliding side to side which is helpful shooting side hill in steep slopes.

As a shooting bag the SSS is more versatile, you can easily adjust the height of the bag which you can’t with the molinator.

As a pillow and sit pad the SSS is amazing. Unfolded it is too low for a pillow for me but I put it on top of a sea to summit Aeros pillow.

As a sit pad I put it on the crazy creek hex chair. Not only is it the most comfortable and easy to deploy chair I have used but it keeps me 10x warmer than any other sit pad.

Why do you use it that way instead of flipped over? Wouldnt the seam between the two panels function similar to the cradle?

I like the Triple S Pillow. I've killed a couple of animals with it drapped over my trekking poles with the QuickStix adapter. I don't use it for my only pillow - I put an inflatable on top of it, but the bottom is nice and grippy and tend to stay put well on a Thermarest. Works fine as a seat, though I wouldn't want to spend hours static on it. I've also used it as knee pads for breaking down animals. The bulk on the exteroir of my pack annoys me a little, but its useful and versatile enough that I can get past that.

It makes it quicker to fold it and change the height. Shooting in that recess typically puts me too low for shooting. When shooting prone in the field I find I am almost always trying to get the front rest higher to get over vegetation and manage the not flat terrain. It also makes it easier to access the backpack.

For me, the Triple S makes a great pillow. Flat for back sleeping, folded for side sleeping. Pillows are such a personal preference though…
