Not that particular barrel, sorry I know that’s a disappointing answerDid it help?
This woud be my suggestion. Had both happen before. Front action screw was putting pressure on the bolt. Easy to fix. I like to be be able to open up the floor plate and then move the magbox slightly up and down and back and forth. If not, a little filing/sanding will get it there.Mag box binding up? Action screws or scope base screws too long?
Everything from black bear to sheep to moose to grizzly. You don't mention what you are hunting with it.
My buddies model 70 doesn't like anything heavier than 150 grain. Shoots those 1moa. Everything heavier is around 2 moa.
It's hard to beat a superlite for carrying all day and less than 1k.
At least the action is worth $800.After fiddling with this rifle more and shooting some more loads it considers to shoot poorly. Man, there’s a tikka superlite stainless 30-06 gen 2 on sale at sportsman’s for $800! That’s cheaper than rebarreling a model 70 with a quality barrel….
I’ve got a credo on the model 70 now (17oz) which is fairly decent but 13oz is niceIf you don't dial much a 3-9 trijicon assent with mil dots is about 13 oz and will lighten you up even more.
Mine shoots hornady surperperformance around 1.5 moa….
I think it was a pretty late model 70 classic stainless. It has the original trigger and one piece bottom metal but doesn’t say classic stainless on the barrel like my other M70s.Curious on the manufacturing date of the rifle? I have a 270 in a sporter chassis from the early 2000s that wont group worth a damn. I read the thread and am going to try the middle screw trick, Mine shoots hornady surperperformance around 1.5 moa….
