I'm a diehard whitetail hunter from STL but am starting to get into out of state hunts as i get older and can afford them. Killed my largest bow (162 7/8 green) and rifle (mid 130s) whitetails this year.

Nice! My advice is start putting in for points ASAP if you want to hunt out west!

I drew an antelope tag with 0 pts in WY last year and got a buck and a doe. Going to NE bow hunting muleys otc this year. I need to pick a state for elk and start building points. Just haven't decided which one.

Thanks all. Of note, the buck in the gator was killed with my Grandpas 30/30. It was bought in the 60s and he never killed a buck with it. made it pretty special. The doe was his girlfriend, she lived about a minute longer than he did.

Welcome! I live on the other side of the state in St. Joe. I stared buying points in 2017. I have done two antelope hunts and a mule deer hunt since then. If all goes as it should, I should be hunting elk this year! Best of luck with this addiction :)

Another new guy from (near) STL here! Congrats on your new records this past fall. It was a great archery season on the IL side of the river for me too
