If you are sitting in a stand and need dexterity, the light glove/muff/hand warmer combo cannot be beat. If you want a really warm mitten, I've owned a few and the Marmot 8000 Meter takes the cake, but they are expensive. I have some Mountain Hardware mitts that are a close second. I don't mind the KUIU mitts for something portable to take in the pack, but like to use them with a wool liner as I don't care for a nylon lined mitten by itself. I bought the First Lite Grizz mitts this year and didn't care for the, especially for the price. Good old Chopper Mitts with a wool liner are also a great way to go, but not as warm as many of the down offerings.

I never would have spent this much, but my awesome wife got them for me for Christmas a year or 2 ago. Simply amazing. I wear them on cold weather motorcycle trips on my dual sport (no heated grips, no wind blockers, nada!) and my hands are toasty. Ice fishing, hunting- no problem. Tons of room to remove the liner and wear gloves instead, and then just drop the shell of when moving or shooting. They have exponentially increased my ability to stay out in sub zero weather.
