September 13th has been super kind to me. In years past I have killed a very good whitetail with the stick and string, as well as my first black bear on the 13th of this month, with a bow. Today I shot my best mule deer to date and did it with my bow. This is my first Missouri Breaks muley and hopefully not my last!

This is him thru the spotter last saturday.

The buck and his buddy were bedded under the shrubs to my right on this shelf for 2 and a half hours after I put them to bed this morning. It was a long wait at 16 yards for 2 hours behind the big rock just above and to the right of me, below the big skyline knob in the picture before I was able to let the arrow fly. I wasn't able to see either buck's antlers until they got up, and as soon as I saw that "my" buck had a little sticker and a bent over G3- verifying he was the one from last week- I let the Ulmer Edge fly and it was over with! Words can't really explain how happy I was/am to get a deer like this in the breaks. From what I've seen and heard this is about as good as they come, and to me, this country is super difficult to bow hunt. I was stoked to punch my tag this morning!

Way to go Logan! Looks like a tough area to stalk within bow range... Congrats

Thanks guys. Yesterday was the first time I had seen him since I took the pic of him bedded down. I was looking daily just trying to keep tabs on him but it took 8 days to finally find him again. Deer just disappear into nowhere in the breaks it's crazy. I got lucky and found him on the edge of a big bench Sunday. It was pretty open in this spot but probably the best spot to put a stalk on a deer I've seen yet. He's at the taxi now.
