I’ve been whitetail hunting in Wi for over 30 years. Many times I sit all day in cold weather.
My number one layer is a quarter zip 400 gram merino top and matching bottoms made by WoolPower. I believe they hand stitch them in Sweden. This is not a tight knitted wool like most. The interior is terry looped which traps more warm air. Check out Wool Power USA online. I wear a UA mock tee neck under the top which is a compression fit with a brushed interior.
Anything you wear over the top of that is up to you but with the UA base and Wool Power 400 it’s been a game changer for me.
