I have a Sony RX100 V that needs a better mic. Unfortunately, there is no 3.5MM jack. The camera will be used to video 3d tournaments, Saddle hunting, etc.

The only 2 ports that is on the camera is
  • Micro HDMI port (with clean output)
  • Micro USB port (High-Speed USB 2.0)

I have never used either of these. The 2 options that I have come up with are:
  • Option 1 - Zoom H1 and Rode VideoMic combination and sync the audio and video later
  • Option 2 - Hollyland Lark M2 with a Micro USB to USB-C adapter or Micro HDMI to USB-C.
I would imagine that the ZoomH1/Rode Video Mic combo are going to provide better sound quality but will be directional. I don't know if that directional mic would be best for the above scenarios.

The Lark M2's will require less editing, but the sound quality may not be as good. If I am wrong about the sound quality, let me know.

If someone has a better option. Let me know.

Which is going to provide better quality of sound. New to editing software as well. Probably going to be using CapCut
