Greetings fellow Roksliders. I did quite a bit of searching and couldn't find exactly what I'm asking about, plus it never hurts to expand on conversations, so I am starting this thread.

BLUF: I am looking at adding to or replacing my Meopta MeoStar B1.1 12x50's with some MeoStars at a lower power. My main complaint about the 12x50's is difficulty when handheld, with weight and bulk being a secondary issue.

My use case is mostly western hunting in CO and surrounding states, with majority glassing being off a tripod. I do not currently take a spotting scope afield, but could open up for this in the future.

With EuroOptic's current sales on Meopta, I am considering pulling the trigger. I am debating, however, between either the 8/10x42, or the 8x56. If you were supplementing, or even replacing a set of 12x50's, what route would you go and why?

Thanks!

I have a pair of 10’s and they are sweet. Still on the heavier side but sweet glass. For western hunting I wouldn’t go less that 10 power if it was me. Your probably aware but one thing to consider with meopta is they moved all their warranty and business back to the Czech Republic. So getting things worked on could be an issue. I’ve sent 2 emails over a month ago and yet to hear back. Need to give them a call.
