Memorial Day weekend sales?

Were any of you waiting to make any purchases to take advantage of this weekends sales? In the past I have used the holiday for the purchase of furniture and appliances, saving me hundreds, if not thousands. I believe the Italian leather sectional we got two years ago was marked down about $1600. Last year we held out for a new washer until Memorial Day weekend and saved a few hundred dollars. Aside from that, my inbox has been inundated with offers from different cottage boutiques and name brand hunting/backpacking companies with heavy discounts which led me to wonder who is taking advantage this year and what you all are getting.

I went and looked at new GMC Yukon, they were asking $6500 over sticker. So, is that what is called a reverse sale? I passed.
