I accidentally posted this topic in the Backpack section. Moving here for posterity.
I am having a difficult time deciding which floorless shelter to go with. I think I have narrowed the options down to two: 1) Kifaru Mega Tarp with Annex. http://store.kifaru.net/megatarp-p85.aspx 2) Seek Outside Lil' Bug Out Shelter with 3-part vestibule. http://store.seekoutside.com/little-bug-out-shelter

What do ya'll think?
Anybody have experience with both?

The price is definitely a concern, with the Seekoutside option coming in at almost half the cost.

I have an lbo with three piece vestibule and seek outside's small titanium box stove. I love this setup more than any gear I have ever owned. It is an ideal system for a pair of hunters. Have not owned the mega tarp. But I have no doubt you'd love the lbo. And you'd have some spare cash to upgrade other gear.

I saved up and bought the Megatarp. I've never seen any of the SO stuff in person but it looks like nice stuff. I bought the whole package deal with the peg and pole kit and annex. I hunt in Alaska and wanted a light weight tent with options for the early season weather. Its a great tent overall!

Thanks for the input! Tough decision.
Wondering if a new improved version of the Megatarp is still in the works? Seems like Kifaru kind of put their focus into the new pack systems since the hype over a new tarp line last spring.

I also have a megatarp and annex. No experience with the Seek outside but they seem pretty nice too. I really enjoy my megatarp

Chem-E,

I actually had John at BPWD do a custom minimalist 2 specifically for my megatarp. Basically increase the height of the netting so I can sit up in it. Made it more of a nest than a bivy. I just got notice that it shipped. Should have it in a couple days. I will post up some pictures once I get it.

I love my LBO. Light, versatile and I like I can enter it not on my knees crawling. 2 sided entrance is great and a castle for 1.
