Meat Care for Float Hunters

Other than for ease of handling purposes, is there any particular reason you left the bone in?

I always go bone in even on the backbone it is is just one more pack out on a moose .Less meat exposed means less trimming .Yes in most of our hunting units it is required

Fires don't bother moose. In 30 years of hunting them, the majority have been shot from camp with active fire rings. The sticks being broken for the fire sounds much like sticks moose break with their hooves and antlers. I'd call fires a magnet vs deterrent.

Another great video, I don’t think anyone does as well as you do on teaching proper field care of meat.
