I went to Newfoundland in Oct with a friend for a moose hunt. We both harvested our moose and had it processed and shipped back via their processors and NL Shipping. I hadn't heard anything yet and started to track down some info with the shipping company. Well, they sold and renamed themselves Newfoundlands Big Game Shipping Company. Same delivery points along the East. Finally reached them via messenger since their phones "wont accept any new messages". Ours was delivered to Cartersville GA as planned but the meat is not being released by the FDA. Some sort of paperwork issue where the FDA approved all shipments except those under a certain "PAP number". No idea what PAP means but typical Governmental BS where it was missed and now having to play the waiting game of getting someone at the FDA to fix what was missed.... Just venting.... WANT MY MEAT!! 😁

Hopefully they have it in a freezer. It would be like the government to stick a cooler full of frozen Processed meat in a warehouse waiting for the paper work to be approved while the meat rots away

Yikes. Would they have let you drive it back into the states? I’m considering driving to Newfoundland in 2023

PAPS. Pre arrival processing system

My guess is when the company sold/ changed names they needed a new carrier code or something. Blaming the government for a shipping company’s **** up is dumb.

As late as 2017 they let you drive it back. Took less than 10 minutes to fill out a form and back on the road.

yes & If you can drive, DO IT. The airlines are a crap shoot on whether or not your luggage gets left off due to weight/room limit reached on the plane or not. We watched our luggage and rifles roll out to the plane and watched my friends roll back to the airport. 4 days later he gets it. They left his rifle off on the return trip.. I had planned to drive but Covid had the tickets rock bottom for $700 round trip, at that time. OR I've read that you can purchase 1st class tickets to give your luggage priority over economy..

Blaming the government for anything is never dumb.

All of life's problems are a direct result of government.
Somalia… there’s a country with no government creating problems for them. Also Afghanistan. Paved roads, functioning power grids, law and order, air traffic control, and so on… all “problems” which are a direct result of the government.

Problems which are not a direct result of the government. My ex wife is mean to me, tuberculosis, (which was eradicated by a government program until anti vaxers and people from countries where they don’t vaccinate blew a big hole in it), my teenager resents me for no good reason, and last but not least…

idiots.

Stop with all this commie nonsense. I'm an American damnit and it's my god-given right to whine about how oppressed I am while simultaneously enjoying personal freedoms and a quality of life that most of the world can't even imagine...

Inaccurate post. Afg didn't get to where they are on their own. That previous government never left 550 A.D.

You cannot honestly say your personal problems don't have some influence from government somewhere...

I don’t object to the characterization of the government as sometimes stupid. Admittedly the government from time to time generates fantastic stupidity. I can honestly say 99% of my personal problems are generally created by my own stupidity or that of others whose stupidity I tolerate.

I still stick to my guns. Saying that all of life‘s problems are created by the government is in the same league as saying that all dead people are caused by guns. It’s categorically not true.

anyway this threads supposed to be bout meat.

Shipping meat from Canada is always a PITA...had mine driven over the border and shipped to me by another hunter who didn't fly to Alberta. Lots of horror stories about meat shipments.

I figured when the poster was figuratively speaking about governments effieceny, there’s be a handful of government employees quick to twist the narrative.

The government is composed of a lot of hard working people. If left to common practices dictated by the need for proficient completion of tasks, the organizations would excel. Just like the private sector. In any field. However, everyone knows that’s not how it works. Twisting the intended narrative doesn’t change that reality.
