I appreciate the banter back and forth and it has been fun, but I will be respectfully stepping back from this thread for a bit. Hopefully it can continue forward and I hope people list their results. God Bless and I hope everyone has a great New years.

Bummer Sam, But I can't blame you.

It takes a certain personality to engage in the "civil discourse" on this and probably all forums. I have rarely seen a group of folks more fiercely protective of their adopted creed than the "Small Caliber Match Bullets for Hunting" crowd on this site. But I also haven't spent a lot of time on forums and I expect this is a common phenomenom.

I think there is a lot of truth to what ya'll are preaching. But some forum members take it past a point of factual investigation and inquiry towards a near religious conviction. It seems that there are those who gain ego boosts by "protecting" Ryan and Form and the movement. From the little I know of those two, they don't need help protecting their feelings or their beliefs. And the rude and aggressive way that those who offer alternative opinions or products are treated does nothing to help anyone.

It may be that I'm jumping the gun here and there is no link to the treatment Sam has received in this thread and to the SCFBG movement. But it feels like a trend when reading many threads.

Sam has taken the time and money to create and offer a product that might be the best-in-class from a mono bullet performance perspective. He did not come to this site bashing any product, practice or person. He may not be as communicative or eloquent as you would like. And he may not be a world-class ballistician. But he has worked to bring a product to market that might make a difference. How many of you that aggressively shit on him and his product in this thread have done anything equal in the field?

What does that have to do with anything? The man owns a company that makes a niche product, in an industry (small
machined copper mono companies) that lie, BS’s, repeats nonsense left and right, and avoids engaging in legitimate discussions.

He may be an awesome human- neat. What does that have to do with this thread? This thread isn’t about him or about how hard he works. It’s about the product. A product that when asked questions about it, his responses and lack thereof all give the same feeling as others of the ilk.

You act as if there isn’t constant arguing and nonsense from people about match bullets and smaller caliber performance and suitability- the difference is that group doesn’t have an issue speaking in depth about the technical aspects of terminal ballistics, external ballistics, shooting performance, or anything else.

My take from what is posted on this thread is that McGuire does not know how their bullets actually work- which means they aren’t doing legitimate terminal ballistics testing, and that means that they can’t reliably state the consistency of that performance. They do not know what the BC of their bullets are- which means they do not do their own testing, or they do not do enough testing.

Just the product, not personal.

Gotta give Form some credit. He tried them, hopefully gave an honest assessment and doesn't care for their Bc. Looks like, by most accounts, they do create a large wound channel. Whether it be from yawing or the petals detaching.

Atmat is just a hype man in the background saying yeah, yeah, yeah, what they said.

🤣 he shoots his bullets and guides hunts all the time testing them. He knows exactly how they work. That’s very ignorant of you.
