Has anyone got their hands on one of the new Pure Series sights yet? I'm in the process of picking out a new sight and these intrigue me, but I haven't heard of anyone getting one yet. Are these lighter than the Ascent with the 7075 aluminum, or just stronger? Are there any other differences between them? I've read where these supposedly have a smoother slider operation than the Ascent, but I've never had an Ascent so I can't compare. Any truth to this? Basically just looking for some feedback on a new product.

No they are not lighter. We weighed a 5 pin Pure Gold with a dovetail against a 5 pin Tommy Hogg and it was actually a couple ounces heavier. Its a very nice sight. There are plenty of additional differences between the two. One is that the photochromatic shell has a guard on it. The windage and elevation is micro click adjustable. They use the new updated micro adjust pins as well. The sight tape plate is angled for easier viewing also.

Thanks OR Archer, are they available with a 2" sight housing or just the standard 1 3/4"? S&S Archery only shows the 1 3/4" in their custom shop, I'm planning on a 5 pin so do you think 1 3/4" is adequate for this?

They are not available with a 2" ring if I remember correctly. The 1 3/4 is plenty

That is my understanding as well. When I ordered my Pure Driven the 2" "Pure" wasn't available... It is a new sight and they tooled up to make the most popular size first I was told. I have since met one guy who did order a "Pure" from the custom shop with a 2" head, but it was the head off of an attack series sight I think he said... and it wasn't the same Aluminium or machining... so basically not as nice for more money, which didn't make sense to me, but to to each their own... I agree with Chris, the 1 3/4 is plenty on that sight.

that angled sight tape thing is nice. i have mine rear facing, and it works well. but i bet having it angled would be better.

but i think this is one of those situations where you love what you initially get used to..i have a friend that thinks my rear facing tape is weird. he loves the original config.

BG has said for the past year or so that they were gonna drop the 2" housing because they hardly sell any of them...Just not worth machining them to have them collect dust on the shelf. I haven't messed with the new ones, have a ton of experience with the old Ascents...New ones look good but they ain't cheap.

I ordered mine in march. The bow rack called on a friday and they said it should be ready to ship within two weeks. It was at the shop on Monday.

Does anyone know the length of the standard base on the Pure sights? Is it ~5" like the Vengeance?

I have the Pure driven and, yes, it is basically a Vengeance base... as far as I can tell, no different (except it is the higher grade alum. and the machining is a bit nicer).

Ive had my pure gold for a month now and its badass! The adjustability is great. Its a solid site and the drive/dial is very smooth but stiff enough to not work free from shots. I have the 5 pin with dovetail. I also like the flo green site ring as it deff catches my eye quickly when getti g on target. And like i heard before the bg pins are very bright. Im really digging this site.... And my 35 its on! :)
