Hey guys new member here on the forum, looking to take in as much as I can from everyone. I'm looking into getting a MBG Ascent Verdict Custom from S&S archery and was looking for advice for how to set it up. I'm looking to go with either a 4pin slider or a 5 pin slider with a dovetail. I just can't decide how many pins I should go with Anyone currently shooting something similar want to give me advice on whether to go with 4 or 5 pins as well as how to set them up (20,30,40,50, 60 for the slider) or 27ish, 40,50, 60slider. I mainly hunt whitetails but have been trying to take a big western trip or two per year. Thanks in advance

I have ran them for 3 seasons and after the first season i added a pin to each of my 4 pin sliders. So im running 5 pins, top two are .019, bottom 3 are .010, all green. I hunt the west so i like to be able to shoot to 60 yards without dialing my heads. I have a 4" dovetail on one bow and 6" on the other. i prefer the 6" as i shoot a 3/16" peep and have a little more play with sight head, peep alignment. The 4" works on both bows (32,33 ATA at 28") but it has to be ran all the way out which i don't really like. Hope this helps.

Pro Defiant 34 70# is on the way should be here hopefully this week.

I have a MBG Ascent Verdict on a 4" dovetail. 4 pin all .010 Green Yellow Red Green. 20-30-40-50

I won't shoot past 50 w/o dialing the specific yardage anyways.

I have and MBG ascent verdict with a 4 in dovetail. this year I bought a four pin head (used single pin last year).

Really liking this set up. my pins are set for 20-30-40-50. The bottom pin is my floating pin. But I can dail my floating pin to all ranges.

The top two pins are green and .019. The bottom two pins are red, green .01.

Hope this helps.

Everyone is going to have a different opinion based on their needs. Here in New England, I hunt mostly big woods whitetails so getting a shot over 40 yards is a true rarity. I have a 3 pin slider setup at 20/30/40 and I use the 40 as a slider for practice and 3D tournaments. Has been perfect for my needs.

I went with all green pins bc I see them better in low light.

I run all three pin ascent verdicts, 25-35-45 I float my middle pin. With my set ups the floater set below 50 makes the top and bottom pins 10 under and over .....above 50 it's 5 under and over.
