I tried Flex Seal before the Plastidip, and it was a disaster. It's way too thin to apply thick coats properly. The Plastidip, with about 4-5 coats, was perfect. You can also let it dry about 70% and still be able to form it to your grip/hands.

I don't own an altitude, but from what it looks like, you could remove the scales and dip it. You can always cut it off and put the scales back on if you don't like it.

I'm more of a function over form guy, but the altitude has some nice scales on it.

Check out this video, starting at 11:50. He makes a pretty good case for plasti-dipping the handle.

I did see this video quite some time ago when on a search for a light weight knife and thought this was a good idea and kept the dip idea in case I needed it. The knife I purchased has G10 Scales held on with two screws. After using it on a deer and washing it I removed the scales and found a little bit of blood under them. I think it’s time to at least try the dip as I’m sure it’s probably easily removed if I don’t like it. I was surprised to see it filled in the cutouts as much as it did on your handle.
