Thick outer stadia so it is visible on low magnification in poor light on a dark background.I can understand not liking a cluttered Christmas tree style reticle, but as long as you have windage hash marks in a granular enough scale to be useful, what makes one reticle better than another?
I’ve never considered it.
Both have their fanboys and their detractors. You honestly are going to get into a great optic either way so it comes down to what's important to you when it comes to price and magnification etc.. All I know is you won't have a 7 PRC with either scope and have a 400 yrd limit. Almost defeats the purpose of high powered scope on that cartridge.
Buy the scope, hit the range, and you'll be out to at least 600-750 in absolutely no time!
Funny I was in this same exact situation with the same exact rifle and same 2 scope options.I’m looking to put a new scope on my 7prc havak element. I’ve narrowed it down to a couple choices. Either the NF nx8 4-32x50 or the maven RS 1.2 2.5-15x44. Both scopes would be FFP and mil.
Used for general hunting and in my area shots could be 50-100 yards up to 400 yards. Not confident in anything beyond at the moment. I really don’t need the 32x on the NF but have heard it’s a better FOV than the 20x. Of course concerned about reticle size at low power. Both scopes seem to be reliable with good reputations.
Thanks in advance.

The amount of shooting required for military snipers training is not what you think. Likely, the average prs dipshit can outshoot them unless they are spending their own time and money getting better, which some do. There are a lot of other skills needed to be a good sniper besides shooting, but our military is not heavily invested in having the best shooters when it comes to snipers.Absolutely, you will always hold the gun back more than it does you. But that’s why I only said 600-760. A military sniper could take that setup out to a mile. So all I’m saying is a well practiced shooter shouldn’t be below 600 yards with that. At that point it’s effort rather than skill.
EnoughCool story. How often do you think they practice at a mile?
Very very true. My point was that anyone with some form structured training could take that setup well beyond his 400 yard limit he set for himself. The amount of shooting required for military snipers training is not what you think. Yep, I was going to suggest the SWFA 3-15 considering the distances given. Not trying to hijack. But curious, why not a swfa at those ranges?
