Any thoughts or comparisons between these Binoculars or any others in the $1000 - $1300 price range?

Also what do you feel is missing compared to alpha glass?

I tried the Maven B6 10x50, Kowa Genesis 10.5x44 and GPO Passion HD 10x42 and ended up keeping the GPO's. Honestly I could not tell but maybe the slightest difference optically between them. The Kowas were just too heavy and bulky for me. The Mavens had a couple quirks that I didn't care for, but the GPO's are just right.

For whatever it's worth, I also have looked through Swaros and Leica and yes, they are optically superior. But for a blue collar hunter such as myself I just could not justify the cost for what I believe is a relatively small gain over the sub-alpha glass. I also handled and briefly looked through Vortex Razors, the Leupold BX 5's, and several others. Most of the differences are highly subjective to personal preference. Doug at Cameraland was very good to me, and the folks at Maven were great with their 'test drive' option. I would recommend utilizing that, or trying out a friends glass rather than simply buying what is the latest rave online.

In that price range I would buy Trinovid 10x42’s instead if it has to be new or I’d buy lightly used SLC HD 10x42’s. Personally though I’d cough up another $400 and get into some used EL10x42 SV’s.

I am currently using Leupold Mojave 10 x 50 (I think they are BX-3) have will they said mentioned 10x42 compare in low light (I know its and estimate for those who haven't looked through them)

I really like the specs on GPO, but I just can't bring myself to buy a product called "GERMAN precision optics", that is made in JAPAN. If they called themselves anything else, Samurai Optics, Daniel Son, Wax on Wax Off, I'd be a buyer.....are they that stupid, or do they think the market is? I realize Zeiss, Vortex, Leupold, and many others have scopes and binos manufactured in Japan, but they don't put a nationality in their brand name that insinuates otherwise.

Maybe the owners last name is German

After going down the black hole of bino research, I found a pretty good review from a bird forum. So I don’t imagine they are as biased as some sponsored reviews hunters tend to put out.

i have the B6 10x50 and it is an absolute gem.

OPTICS - Very bright, crisp and high contrast view that is the rival of anything in its price class. FOV is decent, not flat-field but has a very large sweet-spot; eye relief is good with no blackouts or kidney-beaning. Eye placement is easy and the view quite comfortable. Low-light performance is excellent. I don’t notice any CA, stray light or glare in normal use. Colors are neutral but I personally prefer a bit deeper saturation.

BODY & HANDLING - Overall build quality, fit and finish are first rate. The focus mechanism is refined and precise. Armor is sufficient but not heavy like a Swarovski. But the real beauty of this optic is the handling. It is much smaller, lighter and handles better than either the Kowa or GPO. They offer all of the optical advantages of a 10x50 with weight and handling characteristics much more akin to a 10x42. The only major shortcoming of the body is the small distance between the barrels offers just enough space for a tripod stud.

Do I think they are the equal of a Swarovski EL or Zeiss SF = No. But they would earn some respect in comparison and would certainly be my pick when compared to the GPO or Kowa.
