I think im ready to part ways woth my 18’s. I thought these were aeesome binos but i bought 12x nl pures that would pair better with a spotter ive decided. Im keeping the stud in the photos. They have lived in the case pictured and always had lens covers on in my back pack. Glass is flawless. I have the oroginal box they came in. Looking to get $1100 for the binos and maven case pictured. Or trade for a kowa 774 (straight) plus cash on my end. Paypa only. F&F or buyer pays fees

free bump and just FYI, the tax is only applicable to any profit you make on the sale, for instance, if you paid $1,500 and sell for $1,200, you are taking a loss, therefore there is no tax applicable. It would only apply if you bought them used for $1,000 and then sold for $1,200....then you would owe tax on the $200 profit only...

I have a pair of these 18x56 and have directly compared them to the newest Swaro SLC HD 15x56 for an hour or so in midday, sunny conditions.

The center clarity of the two is virtually identical. Edge to edge the Swaro has a slight advantage.

If you're using them at longish distances (>800 yards) I think it's kind of a toss up in terms of image quality. As you look at distances under that I felt like the Swaros gained slightly more advantage. I did find that the Swaros are less fussy (less refocusing needed as you look at images at different distances).

Overall though, the image of the Mavens was ~95% of the Swaros, but the Swaros were easier to keep in focus as you looked around.

Considering the Mavens will save you at least $1000 and they have a better warranty (lifetime unlimited) they might be the better option.

I almost always hunt with one or more of my sons so my strategy is get two sets of eyes in 18x maven plus 15x meopta so i won’t be far from the price of 15x swaros, and I’ll certainly be seeing more game that way than taking turns on swaro.
Haven’t completed the meopta leg of that strategy yet… but the mavens have been great.

I own this same pair in the 15x56's and I really like them. I sold my Zeiss Conquest 15x56's because I liked these more. IMO, the only pair of 15's better than the Maven's are Swaro SLC 15x56's
