Hey guys just looking for input on making my next bino purchase. The maven 9x45s seem to get killer reviews but it's hard for me to pull the trigger on something I have never put my hands on. Also the cabelas euro 10x42 are on sale right now for $900 which seems like a killer deal on great glass and I have a couple hundred cabelas bucks which would knock em to $700 What do you guys think are the mavens worth the extra $250 or will I be happier going with the cabelas/meostars ? Thank you to all for any input on this topic

If you can get the Euros for 700 you'd be a fool to not pounce on that deal. Amazing glass.

I've heard the Maven B2s are legit but my Meostar 12x50s will go toe to toe with ANY bino out there.

For 700 bucks...go with the Euros, order a pair of demo Mavens if you want, and return the one you don't like.

I've owned both (well Meopta HD) and both are great glass for the money. I think they both have their place. The meopta is smaller in size (height) which is why I kept them. The mavens are wonderful and their warranty is tremendous. They weigh close to the same but the height of the mavens were just a touch too tall for me. My .02 so take it for what it's worth. You won't be disappointed with either.

I bought a set of the 10x42 Euros and am currently demoing a set of 9x45 B2s. They are just really different. The B2s are longer and won't fit in my current AGC case. Although they weigh roughly the same the Mavens feel lighter in the hand to me. The Mavens seem to have a much brighter and flatter view. I think the color is more prounounced on the Mavens. The Euros are a little darker but are clearer edge to edge. The Euro eyecups fit me better. At this point I think I would pick the Mavens, but I am finding out binos are like boots. What fits one guy may suck for another. ianpadron's recommendation to try both is a great one.

Maven will transmit light a bit better due to larger objective, and AK prism.

Maven feels better, more luxurious in hand than Meopta. I hate the plastic, aka cheap, feel of the Meopta focus knob.

Meopta will be slightly smaller and the sale price is tempting.

Both are amazing.

I would agree with this very much. I own a pair of b2's but also looked pretty hard at the Cabela's euro models, the maven fit/finish/quality is a step above in my opinion. I would compare the build quality of my b2's to my Swarovski SLC's, if not even a little better. They are nice.

Tagging in. Own the 11x45 B2's but have not been able to compare to the Meopta/Euros like I'd like. They are great glass, but that's always easy to say when we've already made the purchase and aren't comparing side by side in comparable situations. From other comments, sounds like the B2's hold their own. I will say for handheld use, I could see people not liking the size/weight of the B2 but they were fine for me in that regard during last year's elk hunt. Majority of my glassing is off a tripod so it's a non-issue for me but worth mentioning.

All good input fellas I have a pair of b2s on the way to demo next week and hope to have my bino situation figured out by aug when I head to Alaska for Sitka bucks in the velvet. I am fairly new to rokslide and greatly appreciate the generosity and outreach of fellow members who speak the truth and are no bullshit. Thanks guys

On the size of the Maven: the B2's are large, but far from unwieldy. I think they really nailed the balance in hand with that optic, it's a really pleasure to use.

What size AGC pack would I need for a set of B2s?

How do the Mavens compares to Razors?

I bought the AGC Hybrid harness from Blackovis for my B2s. I believe it's the same compartment size as the Kodiak Cub or Kiss. So far I am liking the 9x45 Mavens. I had some 10x50 Razors and 12x50 Razors. The Mavens seem pretty similar to me in clarity and a touch brighter in low light. I like the eyecups on the Mavens better. They're a little heavier and thicker body but have a nice feel in the hand.

Do your 12x50 Razors fit in the Hybrid?

I have the Maven B2 9X45's and love them. I looked at the cabelas euro...aka meopta's......the mavens just felt better to me and fit my face better. A couple weeks ago right at dark I put them on my tripod and found a cow elk about 2 miles away....So I am very impressed with them.
I bought a badlands bino pack for them. Can't wait to get out scouting with them. My next purchase will be Maven B4's in the 15X

I have the meopta and partner has the mavens. Both are excellent. The meoptas fit me better. The mavens are really nice. If you can’t get both to compare I’d would pick the best deal.

Check out the review on the Nikon Monarch HGs. Better field of view, lighter, and cheaper than Maven. Those facts + the review drove me to purchase those over the Maven. So far, the glass has not disappointed.

for size comparisons have you considered the Maven B.1 in 10x42? I've had a chance to handle the B.2 and B.1 and ultimately found the B.1 to fit my needs better. I just like the ergonomics better on the B.1 than the B.2. Price wise it just made sense as well. either way i doubt you be dissapointed as all the glass listed is pretty good.
