I’m getting ready to order a maven rs 1.2 and wanting to know which moa reticle is more usable and larger at lower magnification.

And if you're not one of the .1% of moa shooters actually using MOA slow drop and wind holds just get a second focal and call it good.

just waiting for my balls to drop. ☺️
Probably the same as most. I’ve always shot moa

Just switch... I held out FOREVER and the Little I know/ have used it, its a life changer. I can think of a lot of missed opportunities because I was stuck on MOA and after ranging it had to use a calculator to get dial up and blah blah blah... Buy the Mil RS 1.2 and if you hate it I will give you your money back plus $100

I’ve never thought much of switching over. I’ll definitely think about giving it a try.

Under their reticle subtensions diagram can compare the two:

I haven't used the moa-2 reticle, but have used the shr-moa and shr-mil versions. The mil reticle is broader at any magnification. I think it's nearly imperceptible difference and doesn't change usability much between the two at lowest power.

The moa-2 and shr-moa have the same vertical post width. The moa-2 appears to have taller horizontal posts and looks more like a Christmas tree zoomed in, with wide wind brackets, where the shr-moa version is more like a simple BDC style reticle. On lowest power the shr is a very fine cross hair, and the moa-2 having no top elevation post (T shape).

I posted up a shr-moa in the classifieds today. I have barely used. Could save yourself a bit on the cost of new if you want to go with that one after researching.

The SHR-MIL reticle seems like the best anyway so time to make the switch. MILs being better is just an added benefit. I put my money where my mouth is today and did exactly that.

I have one I will sell you. PM me, if this is a serious offer.
I'm not "looking" for one exactly, I was trying to show him that he should try mils and if he hates it Ill give him his money back plus some. Pretty safe bet as I have never met anyone who switched back.

MILS!
I've been in the trades my whole life so everything is feet and inches.

STH No. 11 is THEE best, simplest and most concise explanation of mils I've ever heard.
I also switched after hearing that podcast and trying mils.

Once you understand mils, you can do drop and wind in your head while setting up.
I've been intentionally doing the math in my head, take a shot or two and check my app to confirm after.

I wish S2H would do a full and detailed video on mils.
wind brackets and quick drop need a detailed explanation but are simple to grasp and use.

I just had a buddy buy one with the MOA reticle and while it’s still good, the mils reticle is better in my opinion (former MOA converter)
