Maven 1.2 vs NF SHV 4-14 reticle on low power

So I used to own a NF SHV 4-14x50 and I didn’t love it because I felt the reticle at 4x was still a bit too thin to be usable. I sold it to a friend of a friend. I bought a Maven 1.2 and I honestly am not sure the reticle is any better and the illumination is much worse. I just can’t get on board with the floating dot. It’s too small for my eyes. I think I am regretting the move. I wish I still had the two side by side to compare. Does anybody? And can they look through both side by side at 4x to compare reticle visibility? Pics would be even better.

First image Maven, Second is the Nightforce. both at 4x zoom, both with the phone at 1x.

After struggling to get the photos I shouldered them both to concentrate on your question and don’t think there’s a perceivable difference at that magnification.

There is a difference between the mil version and moa. Mil version is definitely better

Correct. I finally got to look at the MOA version of the RS1.2 reticle when all of mine are the MIL version. The MOA version is much more difficult to see.

I have had both. Bought the mil used and the MOA new. The mil is so so, the moa is downright bad! Near worthless. Why didn’t they make the dimensions the same?

That’s helpful. The NF looks a bit bolder to me, but with more tunneling. Thats seems to be my recollection too. Is that the Maven Mil or Moa reticle?
