Was looking at the M18 from Mauser. The action looks to be identical to the Sauer 100, maybe the barrel too. Anyone here used one? I'm wondering if the stock is decent and if the recoil pad is soft or hard. Any info would be appreciated

No experience but CDNN has some killer deals on the Sauer right now, I think it is the same

Same same as the Sauer. Excellent barrels and accuracy. It has a harder recoil pad and the LOP is longer than typical factory American rifles. Triggers are around 2.5 lbs.

mauser and sauer come from the same factory here in germany. many things on the guns are the same, although i think the sauer is a little higher quality.

Have had one in 30-06 for a month now. One range trip so far. Easy hitting 2” at 200 yds with 20 yo cheap corelokt ammo. Some shots cloverleaf.
It’s corporate twin to Sauer 100, although Sauer bolt is better.
Mauser barrel is threaded and euro optic includes a 5/8x24 thread adapter, which made me buy it. No threaded tikka is available in this price range. (~$700)
(Had gunsmith threading disaster that cost $200 and six months to resolve on different rifle, never again. Only buy factory threaded. )
Mauser not always extracting spent round, (twice ) although I am inclined to think I need to shoot more than 40 rounds before thinking it a problem.
I cn run a business card under the barrel unobstructed until I rech the first pillar. Every dimension is even and other than bolt, which is adequate, is quality build.
Just the right weight and balance and added an MDT $100 bipod which matches the Savannah color scheme nicely.
With OCL Hydrogen 7, balance does not change and it’s astonishing quiet. My partner was laughing at other shooters picking up spent brass dis believing it was 180 gr 30-06.
Very glad so far I bought this.
