I can totally see how that happened....

Knocked off your feet, flying through the air and trying to rush a shot.

He had a 10mm pistol in a retention type holster and couldn't get it out on the first attempt.

At 29 min into the interview he says he doesn't want to speculate whether spray would have worked but he would not go hiking again in AK without that 10mm.

There was another guy recently that tripped trying to walk back during a bear charge and shot himself in the leg.

If only this had happened before the article I posted in the thread about how killing a bear saved a guy's life because then the article would have been longer and it would have been another data point on the danges of using a firearm to protect yourself.
