2026 Idaho Controlled Hunts

I got one for unsuccessful elk entry.

Mine just hit, too. I'll bet I get the deer email before I can log into the system.

Line seems to be moving at about 100 people per minute.
I have 18,000people in front of me in line.
My Idaho public school education and ti84 calculator tells me that is around 3 hours of waiting. And if my screen times out, I lose my spot in line. I know this because it’s already happened. SMH.

Limited success for us, just an extra whitetail doe tag for one boy and swan tag for me again for 3 of us residents. I can no longer cry about draw results ever again though after my NV results this year.

That's weird, I'm able to go straight in without being in the queue.

Now here's the funny part I just realized. I definitely miskeyed my hunt choice and didn't pay attention to my first choice when I applied as a result of being sleep deprived with a newborn at home. The unit I drew was not what I thought I applied for but somehow managed to draw 52 mule deer.

Nothing for me. Received emails for two of three species before I was able to log in.

I’ll be curious to see the draw statistics. It seemed like the general hunts moving to a draw for nonresidents increased interest in those tags. I wouldn’t be surprised if odds went down for controlled hunts with a lot of first time applicants jumping in.

By the time I got an unsuccessful email for antelope, I logged in, i was was already 10,000 in line Hoping for a controlled deer tag

Son drew 2 tags.
Daughter drew a Pronghorn tag. Last time our family drew Pronghorn was 5-6 years ago. Stoked!

I guess the kids are hunting a lot this season. LOL

All 4 of us struck out this year. Id happily give up some general tags for more controlled hunts. My unit was ridiculous last year and the deer weren't moving down at all.

Extra late cow tag and antelope tag for my 15 year old daughter. Seems she had the luck this year. To be fair, the hunts I put in for have less than 1-2% draw odds - kind of all or nothing for me.
