I shot the chill X and really love the feel, however my gut tells me that once it is set up for elk hunting my speed is going to be in that 260-270 Range. Im shooting a PSE freak @ 70 lbs 31.5 inch draw 540 grain arrow and Im in that 290 Range. I love the specs on the pse for speed however this bow is big, bulky, and freakisly just plain old big. Chill X feels awesome, but not going to give up 30 ft per second. Anyone have the chill X speed reports and how heavy of a arrow. I know what is printed for ibo on the package, however any real field testing on this?

I have the Chill R, and the Chill X is a smooth shooting bow for sure.
You could always go with 75% mods to help gain a few more fps.
Sorry I couldn't help.

You are not going to be losing 30fps over your other bow. The Chill X is a 335 IBO at a 30" draw. Add your extra inch of draw and your up to a 345 IBO bow with the 75% modules. At the most you'd be giving up about 10 FPS.

So your say the chill x could spit out a 540 grain arrow @ 275 fps? ANother question the chill x how goes to 30"" draw, Im 31.5. ANy ideas for another 1.5 "

Then maybe ill sell this freak and get a chill. Not sure about 85% mods

You will be losing more fps going with the 85% modules. Go with the 75%. Better performance and I think they tune better.

I stopped in lancaster archery shop today. With a 540 grain arrow I got 267 fps. No peep or cat whiskers.

He used the chill r mods....he said they are siimliar to the 75 mods

No they're not even the same. The 75% mods are the Rock mods. The feel is totally different than the standard 80% modules that come on a Chill R. Try the bow again but insist on trying it with the 75% Rock mods. They are silver in color so you can tell real quick at a glance if they are the right mods.
