Hello people of the internet. It seems like the reviews for the atlas’s are few and far between. Even harder to find is speed test with realistic arrows. Please post all speed tests below so future buyers can view in one area. Feel free to comment your thoughts as well.

Yep, watched both of these a few times and others. I’m right at the same draw length as these guys but I shoot different arrow weights. Hoping others can chime in and post new data. Agreed on it being a rare purchase.

I don't have any chrono data; but 0.30-0.35 FPS per grain of arrow weight will be very close to adjusting their number (or IBO number) to any alternate arrow weight. Example: 50 grains heaver arrow = 15 FPS slower.

I shoot at 33” DL and a 600 grain setup with the atlas and haven’t bothered to measure speed. I assume there aren’t too many people shooting this configuration.

That would be great if you could. Don’t sweat it though. Most of the info I’ve seen is for 32” draw folks so it would be cool to see someone in the larger range.

I am a 32” draw. It depends on what type of bow you are after. I shot the atlas at the flowing specs. I didn’t measure it to see actual poundage and correct draw length but it felt pretty spot on when I was shooting it. We just backed down the limbs instead of replacing the switch weight mods too.
32” 70 lbs 530g arrow: 272fps
65 lbs 530g arrow: 265 fps
60 lbs 530g arrow: 255 fps

Tested the Atlas today with several arrow weights through the chronograph. 73lbs, 85 % mods, 32.5” draw length.

Just to add my experience. 32" draw with 70lb 85% mods. Actual draw weight is about 68lbs. 530 grain arrow shooting 274FPS.

My VXR was 275. 65#, 80%, 28.5 mods drawing like 28 7/8" with a 419gr arrow.

I'd think it should be 10-12fps faster than what you got.

Haha yeah, it's slow for such a long draw but I could never shoot your VXR. Way to small. I also don't really like to shoot over 280 for a hunting setup and feel like they designed it for hunters and made it for the "sweet spot" of large dudes.

How do you like the vxr? I was considering getting my wife one. She is a ~ 27" draw and I'm slowly working her up to a 60lb draw. We hunt elk so she'll have a minimum 450gr arrow.

Overall I like the SW cam system. I sold my VXR a month ago, been playing with a V3x33 that I prefer so moved the VXR.

I'd look for a Prima, similar to how you the Atlas is built for the 32"+ crowd, the Prima is built around the shorter than 28". Has a shorter brace height, but I don't find that as unforgiving anymore as what they use to be.



Of course you can probably find a used VXR a lot easier than you can a Prima.


The nice thing about the SW mods is instead of a rotating module that generally performs best at max length, the SW are built to maximize each draw length.

little different but I’m shooting 32.5” DL out of a Hoyt XXL. I’m getting arrows setup this week, and I’m looking to do ~540-575 grain total setup at 70lbs, I’ll be happy to chrono for you
