Maryland Bear Hunt

I spent an Oct and Nov. in Frederick back about 20 years ago.
Beautiful country up there in the fall.
I ate a lot of paw-paws.
Congrats on the bear!!

Picked a bunch of paw-paws this Fall. Going to make some ice cream out of them.

Congrulations on your bear, been putting in for the draw the last few years no luck yet, the area I hunt deer in has a few hanging around see them often while hunting deer. Nice too see them making a come back in the western Md. counties.

First bear I've ever seen in MD. Bear kill was way down this year with only 52 bears. Usual kill is 140+.

Headed out next week…non resident driving 10 hours to hopefully fill a tag…any info/insight is appreciated!
Good luck to you!!

I've seen two bears in Allegheny County (oak ridges) and two in Garrett County (corn fields). One of the Garrett County bears was BIG. They're around and getting more common.

My biggest question is why you chose MD for your black bear hunt when every state that you would’ve passed on your 10 hour drive here would’ve been easier to get a tag and offered more opportunities lol. Good luck out there though.

Great video! And impressive hunting. Way to make it happen from scratch, DIY, instincts and woodsmanship!
