Marsupial padded vs regular

Anyone have insight on whether to choose the padded or regular binocular harness from marsupial? It looks like the new enclosed model only comes with padded, but I'm probably going to pick up the non-enclosed version so I get the choice.
Initial thought is that the padded might be uncomfortable & bulky under my pack, but maybe I'm wrong?

Go padded worth the extra $$$ if your going to wear it all day

I absolutely hated the padded.
The little bit of extra width, the seam whatever.
I thought it was gonna rub thru my neck.
They claimed they changed it again since then but looks the same to me.

Its not about money for me. After 2 days I had to take my harness off or only hunt w a hoodie on. And priority a standard harness.
It was terrible for me.

I'm still running it on a medium with 10x42 and have zero issues.
I'm probably an out lying case.
Maybe its my build/combo of gear I run.
I'm not sure. I'll I know was I hated it and I see no down side to the standard harness.
I do piles of miles and don't feel I need padding.

I’ve got the older model with the standard non padded harness, totally comfortable all day with heavy maven B2s

I have a fully enclosed with padded straps. I carry my 15x binos in it. I’ve worn it for days and days, under a pack, in a t-shirt...its super comfy for me. I wouldn’t change a thing.

I really like just the regular strap because it is thin, but I have not tried the padded harness. I was worried the added bulk would be uncomfortable under backpack shoulder straps.

I have the regular straps and have no problem with them. Wear it all day with no issues. Can’t go wrong with marsupial.

I have a couple of both styles. The standard harness Is what I prefer. Plenty of comfort and less bulk.

If you think the padded is bad, the harness on the AGC is worst. I threw it out and ordered a standard Marsupial gear harness 3-4yrs ago.

Long story short, I use a FHF harness with Marsupial Padded straps. I have the same issue with the Marsupial padded harness straps as BRTreedogs. Rubs my neck on the left side. I bought these in the past month, so whatever design change theyve made, it appears it still might be an issue for some people.

I love the padded, how do you hate the padded

I wear mine pretty tight under an Exo pack all the time, I’m 5’ 10” athletic build. The non padded caused rubbing with the Exo shoulder straps. Went away when I got the padded. Just some use case for you.

Add another vote for padded. I've never had an issue with it as far as comfort goes

I use them both. I didn't think I would like the padded, but so far, so good. I would suggest just getting them both and selling the one that you do not prefer. The padded one I think is slightly more comfortable.
