Marsupial Bino Harness Pistol Holster - Safety

Do you conceal carry at all? I point this thing at my balls all the time. Thankfully the good Lord blessed me with a brain and critical thinking skills so I don't have to blindly apply rules to every aspect of my life--although that would be easier.
Your balls. Your problem. You should never have a gun pointed at anyone else . Let me accidentally point my Glock at one of your kids and let's see how your critical thinking kicks in.

We had this exact discussion in elk camp this year after I stared right down the barrel of a 1911 for the second time. It ain't cool and I told the guy I was hunting with that.
No different than the time I was in line at quick trip and the guy in front of me has double shoulder holsters and both barrels pointed right at me. It's honestly a crime.

I use a Marsupial style holster when I take my kids fishing.

But you threaten my kids or family and I will end you.

I considered one of those holsters, but realized there was no way I’d be comfortable hunting with my son while wearing it.

I don’t think any of us would ever point an empty rifle at our hunting partners, let alone one with a round in the chamber and on safe even if the gun were something like a Blaser with a de-cocker. Not sure why it’s different for pistols.

The cloth style holsters I would feel uncomfortable, yes. But a kydex one like a Razco or GunfightersInc Kenai? No I wouldn't feel the same way.

I use a pants belt hip holster for a Glock 20, Simply Rugged I believe is the brand, and it works fine with or without a pack. When wearing my pack, the pack belt rides slightly above and inside the gun. This way I don't lose access to the gun if I take my pack off for a break. A buddy tried a Kenai chest holster last year and we all hated that thing. Much rather have the gun on my hip.

I was a Leo firearms and tactical instructor for 24 years. Any carry position that points it at others is idiotic. We banned horizontal carry shoulder holsters for the same reasons. People in the office didn’t like a gun pointed at them no matter how “safe” the holster was it broke the cardinal safety rule of not pointing your gun at anything you don’t want destroy.

We approved them for limited applications that made sense, like sitting a car on surveillance.

I like belt and the chest carry muzzle down woods holster.

Appendix carry is crazy. I don't know why anyone does it. The Glock fanboys don't like to talk about the viral video showing a guy shoot himself in the groin with a G43 when he bends over to pick something up from the floor.

I like Glock and Sig. I carry a G20 on my pack and a P365 for EDC. I wish Glock made an EDC pistol that is as good as the 365, and I wish Sig made a 10mm that is as good as the G20.

No way that guy was using a kydex holster, never would have happened if he was. Cloth and leather holsters are notorious for activating triggers, basically the cloth bunches up and inserts itself in to the trigger well and then you sit down or bend over or whatever and as you do the holster and fabric shifts position and off goes the trigger.

You can always "Prince Harry in Afghanistan" carry..

Have the harness and will use it when I’m running around by myself scouting I’ve never really thought about it being a danger tbh, probably just keep if for when I’m solo

Wait until you find out how many other hunters are checking you out through their scope when you hunt public land.
This isn’t to condone this practice, nor to make light of it, but I’d wager the vast majority of guys aren’t checking someone out through their scope by planting the crosshairs right on your chest. Then again, I’m sure there are some that do, and it’s generally just a piss poor practice.

As far as holsters, I use a Marsupial Bino harness(and love it). I bought it with the intention of maybe one day adding in the holster, but to date haven’t. Given this thread, there’s a really strong chance I won’t. When I’m just spotting or packing and not carrying a rifle, I have a 6” S&W 629 that I usually carry. Diamond D Outdoors shoulder holster. It is adjustable, and I can set it so that it doesn’t interfere with my Bino harness or hip belt of my pack. Granted it’s a second piece of gear, but I can’t possibly recommend that setup enough, even without a bino harness.

The holster runs about 100$, but they make them to fit virtually any handgun on the market in any configuration, and it makes carrying that fairly hefty pig skinner of mine extremely comfortable. In fact, I’ve been meaning to grab one for my M&P Shield 9mm for when I don’t want/need my .44, but just haven’t gotten to it.
