Mars MT1000 LRF thermal

They’re making big waves for sure, I’ve only heard great things and will be trying one. Specs are ridiculous for the money. But, with thermals the service and track record after the sale is the big kicker and these are top new to tell. Thermal markup is ridiculous and these guys are just selling at a more reasonable price point than the established companies. Also, within recoil generally wrecks scopes far worse than rifles.

I just ordered the 35mm to split time between an AR and as a scanner when running the bolt gun. Im eager to see how good it really is.

Yup ive got to run it 4 times as a scanner and slapped it on the ar to let a buddy use one night. My main scope is a nocpix ace h50 which is amazing imo. If you compare them to each other, the mars is nowhere close. But compared to a rattler v2 384 scope it is noticeably better. As a scanner it works fine, not as comfortable in the hand as a dedicated scanner but it doesn't affect function. The lrf seems to work pretty well when used next to a pulsar xp50 pro lrf. I believe if you buy the 50mm lens you will have better performance. The smaller lens/ basemag works good for scanning but almost seems like it blooms out on treelines at distance. May be a settings issue as I haven't messed with it a whole lot. Battery life has been great for me so far, even in cold weather.
I bought the qd mount with it as well. I mounted/ zeroed. And anytime ive pulled it to use as a scanner ive checked zero afterwards and it seems to return to zero pretty well. For the money I think its hard to beat, given my limited knowledge and experience with thermals.
