I have a stainless 44mag 1894 but would like a 357. Preferably a 1894 SBL if able. Just have too many cartridges and have some pistols in 357 so trying to shed one.

Thx.

Thanks Matt. I forgot that these marlins have different “pedigrees” based on manufacture. It’s a JM stamped one. Doing a bit more research it would probably be best to keep it and just get one if the new ruger based ones.

Not much of a collector, but seems like the old marlins may be a thing of the past these days.

I’ll pull the ad down soon, thanks for the responses.

I have heard good things about the Ruger made marlin rifles. I have handled some of the Remington made ones. I looked at several on store shelves that the sights were clocked off by several degrees. It was obvious to the naked eye not to mention the fit and finish was nowhere near what the old JM rifles looked like. Good luck in the future with your new rifle.
