I'm wanting to mark my parallax knob for faster focus. I already know that the exact marking will be off by a little depending on the atmospherics but being able to get into the general area faster is the idea and I can fine tune from there.

I've thought about using tape and sharpie but I don't think that will last very long, especially in inclement weather. I've also thought about using a label maker to print a 1, 2, 3, etc, and cutting out each number. I'd stick those numbers on the corresponding line and maybe putting clear nail polish over each one. I could always use nail polish remover to then remove it if I don't like it.

Any other ideas?

I wish the fancy turret label companies would offer something. It is a peave of mine on my NXS. I too wish to just be in the ballpark with a quick adjustment, its one thing I look at when evaluating scopes.

The issue is the parallax knob position is dependent on diopter to a degree. I have some some scopes that generally line up to the markings, and lots that aren’t even close- like to be parallax free at 300y has it set on 75y for instance. Actually I think the only one that is close enough that I have right now is the Trijicon Tenmile. Every other one I’m using I have to tape and mark it myself.

The yardage marked parallax knobs are mostly feel good.

Form, have you ever posted a picture of a scope that does not look like it was drug behind a pickup truck? And I thought I was hard on my gear... :)

Once you figured out your distances on the parallax turret, you could use a ballistic strip/turret label that correlates to those distances.
