Hi all. I'm looking on a good source of physical maps for my hunt. In the military i used the mgrs system and ideally it would be nice to find some of those if not i can adapt to another type of map. I'm looking for maps i can use with a standard protractor and compass. Not like the useless NatGeo maps. i'm specifically looking for Idaho but any general map sources for future endeavors would be nice too.

Friend bought some maps recently from here.

I've used that My Topo outfit- it was good....back in the early 1990's- grin

I'm sure you are going to hear this a lot- but the GAIA and ONx are FAR superior to a paper map with a short learning curve. plus those tell you private land ownership and many things a paper map doesn't.

I have OnX and a Garmin but I like to have paper and compass back up. Shit happens out in the field. Also I find on the ground its easier to find azimuths to an specific location or animal with compass and protractor.
