Man kills mountain lion with a shovel in Colorado

Perhaps it was a military E-Tool shovel. They have been whacking people to death in battlefields across the globe since WW1.

Not saying he's lying but it's hard to believe a single whack killed a 100lb lion.

I killed a feral tomcat with shovel (long story) and I had to beat the shit out of that thing to finally kill it.
Shovels don't have much mass and it's spread over a large surface area.

Edit: Read the story on another website and he too beat the shit out of the cat, several licks to take it down.

All depends on the impact. I killed a 1200 pound steer with a 4" rock to the forehead. I was 15 and threw it from about 10 feet away. Steer dropped to its knees, then right on down. DRT

Certainly felt like it. We were moving cattle back across the river and this one wouldn't move. I didn't know much about cattle and thought a big ole rock would unstubborn this beast. Pretty shocked to see him drop with eyes literally rolled up in his head. Didn't tell my dad, who eventually found out due to the horrendous smell coming from up river. Kid I was with told him what happened. He was furious; not that I killed the steer, but that we lost the meat because I kept it secret.

Would you tell THIS guy you killed a big ole cow? :)
