I'm looking into spring bear opportunities in the states (besides WY. ID, etc. Been there and done that) in 2027 and came across a season in Maine that is on tribal lands. Does anyone know if this is worth pursuing as a non-resident? I have looked at the few web-sites that offer the hunts and it seems to be a very limited opportunity. Just curious if anyone has experience before I jump into more research.

Thanks for any info.

I have hunted bears in that area but not on tribal lands.I will say the area is very game rich.Im betting it would be a good hunt, they control some nice areas.

i've done multiple bear hunts in maine and to be absolutely honest with you take the extra 1-2 hour drive into New Brunswick you won't be disappointed. Way more bears and they have a spring and fall. I've used three outfitters in New Brunswick and saw bears everytime. Be careful though sone of the bigger ones your just a number you might have 8-12 other hunters in camp. Some people like it but i prefer smaller operations that go the extra mile for you. I cant recommend anyone but Governors Table Camp they have treated me and anyone i've sent there with the best hospitality and just amazing service. Jenn the owner and guide is lights out the best i've ever used. Never question her ability she gets quality bears in front of all her clients. Hunting is supposed to be fun and this place makes it happen you arrive there and from that minute you are part of the family. Best hunt camp i've ever been to.
