Magview vs ollin

Any issues with the Ollin, or either losing its ability to use GPS direction pointing features with the magnetic case adapter options?
I have not noticed any issues. Remember, the magnet is on the optic for the MagView, not on the phone case. Since I’m not using the compass and the optic at the same time, it has not been an issue.

I have the Kapture digiscoping setup enroute and will try to get a review posted once I’ve spent some time with it. This seems like a new and innovative system that is worth a look.

Been waiting for your review on the Kapture but was interested if you could share any of your initial impressions on the setup so far.

Been using the MV for a few months. I “think” I like it. I have your standard Galaxy phone, and it seems to want to slide off the binos once set, almost like the magnet isn’t strong enough.

Don't know if it’s the weight of the phone or what. It’s no heavier than any other phone on the market. Maybe I’m doing something wrong?

I’ve used the MagView for a year now. It’s functional but I’m going to get an Olin setup soon. My biggest complaint is the light that comes around the eyepiece. Makes getting good shots difficult in many light conditions. I’m fairly good at aligning the camera and scope but I am looking forward to that process being more automatic.

I have a rule of never supporting Utah based hunting companies but I broke that rule for the Ollin. if there’s another comparable one I would buy it in a heartbeat, but I haven’t seen it!

Is he able to print more of those?
My son and I both use the MV. He 3D printed a piece that goes on the phone case with two sided tape that makes indexing 100% every time. Just got back from a New Mexico elk hunt and it worked flawlessly. I started using the Phone Skope app last year when MV had so much trouble with updating their app and I've ended up staying with it.
I am also very very interested in this. Please PM me if your son wants to make another one!

After using Phoneskope, ScopeCam, and another smaller brand for years, I gave Ollin a try. Ollin is by far the quickest, easiest system to use. Digiscoping should be fast and easy and Ollin does that to perfection. I'd love to see what is in your pack if the case is your biggest concern, haha.

It's not carrying the case that sucks, it's having to change it to use your other cameras.

I have the ollin and really like it. But there were some features with the new Kapture system I liked. I like how the attachment piece is built into my swaro eyepiece. I also like how you can adjust the cant of the phone to any position. Phone case is nice too and you can use it with any MagSafe accessories. I’ve only had it in the field once so far but I’m really liking it so far.

I also like that I can use my 1x or 5x lens on my iPhone. That will be sweet for animals way out there. It’s super fast to switch the attachment to use one or the other.

I went Magview. Don't like the notion of being stuck using a phone that Ollin makes a case for. Not a fan of the big clunky case either. Other than those factors Ollin look good.

I have the Magview and have used my uncles new Ollin. I agree the Ollin wins in the quick indexing and the Magview wins for simplicity on your daily phone. If you digiscope often but want your phone to be as sleek as possible I would go with the Magview. If you tend to digiscope mostly on targeted outdoor trips and want it to line up crazy easy then I would go with the Ollin and only use that case for your planned trips.

With the Magview I bought some extra plates....so I am set for my next several phones for cheap ;)
