Magnus Buzzcuts vs Black Hornet Ser Razors?

Bowhunters came to us asking for solutions for sharpening their black hornets and ser-razors. It seems many struggle to sharpen the tiny serrations and the small bleeder blades so they reached out to us for a solution. We came up with simple solutions to return heads to a razors edge including the serrations and small bleeders. Here are some before and after pics of ser-razors we sharpened.

What are you using to polish the blades?

My dad has shot elk the past 4 years with the ser-razors. 60lbs, 30" draw, 2 passed clean through breaking ribs on at least one side, one stuck in a leg bone on the off side (and I mean stuck!) And one was a hard quartering away and down shot where it entered on the diaphragm and exited out the neck on the off side. No issues with penetration or durability

I shot 2 blade buzzcuts for a couple years. My experience is that the ferrule is weak. I broke 2 ferrules. One broke on a hard impact. The other broke after teh arrow was swished around from the deer running with the back half of the arrow sticking out of it. I wouldn't have considered that to be a hard impact since it didn't impact any bones rocks or trees..

4 blade buzzcut did it's job for me a few weeks ago on a cow elk.
If the GT half out insert had not broken it probably would have been a complete pass thru.
The buzzcut is unusable after the shot due to a curled tip and the main blade became dislodged from the ferule.
Is that a failure because I can't use the head again? The buzzcut just flies well out of my bow and while I've changed inserts (HIT) and added a collar to my existing GT half outs I'm still using buzzcuts for deer.
Hopefully I can report back this evening with another shot experience.

Just wondering if anyone has done any penetration tests between the 2 broadheads? I know a 2 buzzcut penetrates really well, but haven't heard that the Ser Razors AREN'T penetrating as well, but that sure it a much wider blade angle. I'm shooting 60lbs, 245fps, 473-ish grains. I wouldn't think twice about shooting a deer with the Ser Razors, but wondering if I should stick to the original Buzzcuts for my elk hunt. Mike at Magnus said that he thinks I'd be fine shooting a Ser Razor over a Buzzcut, but thought I'd see if anyone else had any other input.

IME, Blade angle matters- a lot. Stick with the stingers.
Professor J Spence on Youtube explains why the mechanical advantage of a 2.5 or 3 to 1 blade angle penetrates so much better.

Its physics.
essentially, the tapered heads slide in…the short wider blade angle plows in.
I’ve seen the short wide blades chop a significant amount of hair and hide on some shots- not good.

Shot the buzzcuts for several years and had good success with them, but wanted to try the black hornet ser-razors because of the lower profile, thicker blades, and slightly larger cutting diameter. Both heads fly exactly the same for me. My only complaint about the buzzcuts is the little tanto tip is another step while re-sharpening them.

Shot a deer last week, quartering toward, entered in front of the right shoulder, came out in the left armpit and into the upper leg. Deer made it about 30 yards before piling up, and the broadhead just has a rolled tip which I straightened back out and will resharpen and use again. I have no doubt a buzzcut would've killed just as quickly and effectively.

FWIW, my wife shoots just under 50lbs, and I'm going to have her continue using the buzzcuts because of the blade angle.

To address your specific question, I don't think you'd have any issues with the ser-razors with your setup.
