My .22 LR scope stays on 3-4x all the time. Actually all my scopes stay on lowest power all the time unless I'm sighting in, or shooting longer ranges. On my .22 LR, I have a 2.5-10x SWFA ultralight scope. It stays on 10x all the time, whether I am hunting squirrels or shooting paper.
