As the title says, has anyone else ever had their groups be substantially smaller while having their Magnetospeed attached?

While shooting this afternoon with the chrono attached I was getting 5 shot groups averaging around .6”, my 11 year old daughter shot her first ever 5 shot group which was 1.74” so I was pretty stoked thinking we had a great load worked up.

Took off the chrono and my groups totally fell apart, I had one at 1.71” and another at 2.12”. Has anyone else ever noticed this? This is a Springfield waypoint 2020 in 6.5 creed and the load is 41.5gr H4350, COAL 2.800” in once fired starline brass.

I’ve had the chrono shift POI but I’ve never had it make my groups better. At the moment I’m at a loss and any info would be appreciated.

Cheers 🍻

It's extra weight on the end of the barrel. It should affect groups one way or the other. Not surprising either way. Sounds like a tuner brake would be beneficial to your gun. Or there's always the possibility that you were just concentrating more to not shoot the Chrono off the end of the rifle. Lol..

Yes, I had all sorts of POI changes with one as Kyguy states. Was totally useless to try and shoot for groups and speed. Got rid of it rather quickly.

I’ve had this happen. Gun shot better with the magneto speed on it. Groups didn’t fall apart when it came off but it definitely shot better with chrono on it. I have a Garmin now.
