Mack Bros - Zenith Suppressors

Any update on the Zenith K on the 6.5 PRC 20” barrel. It’s the same setup I’m looking at.
I got rid of the 6.5 before I got the can. have shot the K on my 300 win mag and my 7mm Backcountry. It’s not a very quiet can but it does cut enough sound to make it a good can for hunting and that’s what I was looking for. I will leave it on my 300 since it has a 26” barrel. I’m running the dreaded Scyth Ti on the backcountry. I have about 200 rounds of 300 win mag and 40 rounds of 7 backcountry through the Scythe. It’s still in one piece and if I trusted them more, I would keep the K for a 243 and get another Scythe for my backcountry. The K is ok, but if I was buying another suppressor, it would be the full size Zenith.

Thanks for the honest review; that suppressor has been really hard to get guys to share their experiences with… maybe your experience is why. It is attractive for its size and price though, even if it is not be best suppression

I’ve shot roughly 40 rounds through a zenith L and over 100 through a recently purchased zenith “standard”. There is a significant decrease in supression on a 7 PRC going from the L to the standard. Both have similar recoil reduction and a pleasant “deep” tone, but definitely a louder pop to the standard zenith. Loud enough where it’s at the limit of sound I’d want to take while hunting without my ears on.

I’ve also shot both on my 20” 6.5 creedmoor and have similar results… VERY hard for me to believe the K version wouldn’t contribute to permanent hearing damage. The standard already is loud enough.

My 2 cents is to run the standard for anything small and be willing to take the extra weight of an L for magnum cartridges. The L is nothing short of dreamy for recoil and noise.

I will shoot the K without hearing protection when I’m hunting. It’s still a lot more quiet than the gun with no suppressor. It’s one or two shots max when hunting. That’s just my choice. If you hunt with ear protection, that’s great. I choose not to do so. I’m 55 years old. At this point in my shooting/hunting career, I’m not making many changes. I didn’t start using suppressors till January of this year. My hearing tests last year come back with no signs of damage. Some of the differences we see is surely due to cartridge and barrel length differences. I am learning not every person has the same experience with suppressors. My son has a 24” barreled 300 WinMag and his gun has a totally different type and level of sound with the K when compared to my 26” barreled 300 WinMag.

I could see it being better on a longer barreled/heavier bullet than a short 20” with a fast moving round. Not knocking your purchase in any way - whatever you like is awesome.

I just think most people tend to be unimpressed by K cans when they buy/test one. If you’re already adding 5-6 oz to the end of your gun, 2-3 more for better supression seems like a no brainer for 80% of use cases. I personally don’t want a can that is just “better” than a bare muzzle BUT I’m glad you enjoy your K!

I agree. The only reason I got the K was my barrel being 26” long. That is why I’m running the longer Scythe on my 20” barrel 7 backcountry vs the K.
