Hi everyone,

I am currently looking to buy a tipi tent for backcountry hunts. One brand that has come to my attention for it's relatively affordable price is Luxe. I am thinking about getting their Hexpeak XL.

1. Does anyone have information about how accurate their weight descriptions are on the website?

2. Has anyone used it in serious rain for a prolonged time?

3. The outer tent can be bought with a snow skirt. Is this an absolute must if I want to use the tent in the winter? In other words, how do others deal with tents that don't sit flush on the ground when it snows and the wind is howling?

Thanks for your help. Im curious to hear your thoughts.

Research the Luxe threads on here. They used to sponsor the site then a few members talked about the terrible customer service they experienced and damaged tents they got from the company. Was going to buy one myself until I did the research. Went Seek Outside Eolus instead

Kcarlson63 is right. There are several threads here with warnings about Luxe tents. Personally, I was very interested in them. Reading their own return policy was enough to get the picture that they are not customer service oriented and had no confidence in their product.

Here is what the Luxe website says about Returns and Repairs...
"Our Return Policy states that you have a 15 day window to return items. Your camping gear must be unused and never took out of the shipping packaging or openned. Free from any dirt, dust or grime.

Luxe Hiking Gear has no way to repair a damaged product. Depending on the issue, there may be a simple way to repair the item yourself. Feel free to reach out for a solution: [email protected]" [sic]

So, if you set up the tent in your living room, and decide it's not for you, too bad. You are stuck with it. And if there are issues with it, you will be fixing it yourself. I can't imagine buying a product from someone who states that they have "no way to repair damaged product". And we know from threads here that if there are issues, they aren't going to just send you a new one.

There are a few people on here who have had good luck with Luxe. But, the bad far outweighs the good. There is no way that I would trust a shelter from them. My hunting time is too precious to be put in the hands of these guys.

I'm very interested in the hexpeak xl as well, for budget reasons mostly, but a little nervous about their reputation on here.
