Just received my 1/2 inner for the 2 person luxe hex peak teepe. Initial impressions are great and i recommend anyone to at least see what they have to offer. The construction is good, the customer service is very helpful and i think they offer some awesome products! Im stoked to get it in the backcountry this archery season and will be packing it in with confidence.

I see that you went without the winter storm flaps Aka sod skirt.

Now that you have the inner tent, do you think there will be any issues about a hard, driving rain splashing up into your inner?

Trying to decide for myself if I need a skirt or not

Are you specifically after a tipi (cone shaped) or a single pole supported shelter such as a square/rectangular/hexagonal pyramid ?
For the non tipi version, you can do a mock up very easely and for a few dollars just using painter's drop sheet and wide masking tape.
see Matthew's link/suggestion below.
That will give you a much better idea of what size or shape can work for you.

To the best of my knowledge this shelter does not include a sod skirt. Some of the bigger luxe shelters do though. The inner of this setup has a waterproof bathtub floor that goes aprox 3in up the sides. Between pitching the teepe in a responsible spot and the high bathtub floor im not worried whatsoever about rain. You can pitch the teepe to completely touch the ground (with elevated condensation levels in mind) and then ise the inner and im pretty confident that rain/weather will be no issue.
