Lurker to FNG in CO

Hello all,

Been lurking for some months now and decided to make an account. Moved to Colorado last year and scored a EE elk tag for the conglomeration of units in North Park. I am a Marine Corps veteran and have a decent amount of experience hiking and running trails mostly in Colorado and Hawaii. I've recently started trout fishing and have done a couple trips in RMNP combing my trail running and glacial lake fishing, makes for great fun. I'm planning a solo 5-7 day backpacking hunt for first rifle and am starting to slowly accrue the remaining gear I need, big purchases being a pack and a tent. I plan on buying a used Kifaru for the pack, still bouncing around ideas for the tent. Happy to be here and grateful for all the knowledge I've found so far.
