I nearly forgot how ridiculous the TDS stuff was in the news and on here 4 years ago. The media was asleep for the past 4 years along with every other liberal while a potato pretended to be President. It's been a fun last few weeks watching these folks totally melt down.

soooo... now you care about potential inflation but you didn't care about the actual inflation that has already taken place..can't make this stuff up.

I'm 100% pro-tariff on manufactured goods produced in Mexico and other cheap labor countries. In my family business's line of work(manufacturing), our biggest competitor jumped the border at the time NAFTA. They went through bankruptcy prior to that. They now own about 70% of the market. They put stickers on their products that say "American Company, Family Owned" with a big American flag on it, while they make their products for cheap in Mexico. They're located in So Cal and produce products in Tijuana.

The Midwest is littered with similar stories. Small towns and vibrant businesses that were gutted because we were sold the lie that a rising tide lifts all boats. Great, so Americans get a bunch of cheap crap that they'll throw away in a year? Oh my food will get more expensive! We throw away half of our food in this country. Mexico isn't to blame for this, of course they'll take the work that's offered to them. The Mexican people are generally good hard working folks. The people to blame are the business interests and politicians that profited on the demise of the American middle class, all while selling them on some BS story that they'll have more buying power. Great, so we lose millions of quality American jobs but at least we got big TVs!

I'm not Trump's biggest fan but I was darn happy on Saturday. Then I saw the news that the tariffs kick in on Tuesday and knew that come Monday we'd be backing down. Keeping a campaign promise we were told on Saturday. Today, it's "Oh, never mind, mission accomplished." What a joke.

The 25% tariff for Canada and Mexico was never going to stick. That's far too high to be sustainable. Trump knew that before he even announced it. It was purely a power move by Trump to ensure Canada and Mexico understand they need to play ball with border security and accept more US exports. I think tariffs will be negotiated down to a percentage both sides can agree to, but I wouldn't be too quick to write off that there won't be tariffs in place after this 30 day hold. I wouldn't be surprised if Trump negotiates a deal that encompasses both tariffs and higher exports from the US into Canada and Mexico.

Trump is treating the US like a business. He's using tactics businesses use to negotiate and get deals done. I'm not sure why everyone is so surprised by this. He didn't become a billionaire from being in a position of weakness. Like him or not...he's prioritizing the United States. That's something we have lacked for the past 4 years.

If he would get behind breaking up monopolies and increasing tax rates for the ultra wealthy I’d be all for it. Mexican military camping out at the border will stop fentanyl smuggling? Do you really believe that? That’s all for show.

I’ll be his biggest fan when it’s warranted.
What’s the logic behind taxing the ‘ultra wealthy’ more?

Economically speaking, many of these ‘ultra wealthy’ people are the job creators through their businesses, therefore inhibiting their ability to grow and create more competitive wages, we are furthering the existence of monopolies.

Communism and socialism don’t work. Reward the risk takers and job creators.

The ultra wealthy are only ultra wealthy because business and tax laws have allowed it. Everyone in here complains we aren’t getting the economic rewards we deserve, and the Oligarchs have repeated it so often, people believe it’s normal to have the top 73 billionaires with more assets then the bottom half of the country. The tech bros are going to make FB look small once AI gets going. You want to give them the keys to the treasury?

Economics and politics are very much joined at the hip. They have only been able to break unions, exploit workers, drive competition out using dirty tactics, etc. because we let them through the laws passed in the house and senate. “Pure economics,” outside of the framework politics provides doesn’t exist.

For every whackadoodle piece of misinformation or failed policy I highly encourage people to look into it yourselves. Don’t take my word for it, don’t use my sources. Dig deep into the issue and learn about it yourself instead of what is carefully fed to you on social media and talk radio. The best defense against stupidity is simply educating yourself then you can tell what makes sense and what’s nuts.

So if George Soros got access to the US Treasury Dept? Still cool?

well...they did, that's the whole thing now isn't it.
shoe is on the other foot and it's kickin' some tail...

Soros, Bankers, Hoffman, or the slew of other "billionaires" (a term that is bad now apparently) have bought and paid for elections for the past years (Bush, Obama, Biden) and installed their people to run said Departments. (USAID and Treasury included) Now these Departments are being exposed and gutted by Musk and Trump as their personal slush funds for NGOs and other wasteful things. The mainstream resistance to folks trying to reign in spending and expose gross misuse of public tax money is telling. One would hope folks would frown upon such things...Geez I wonder why they are so upset ?

Oh yeah I’m not ok with it no matter who’s wearing the hat. But it’s good to acknowledge it’s not the first or last time for this crap.

I’m all in favor of closing the boarder, but doesn’t he know how to do that already? He said he knew how.

Speaking of that, if we could be serious for a minute. I encourage everyone to send Steve Bannon as much money as possible to help finishing the boarder wall. Every last dime - cash out your retirement if need be. We can trust him. It was the deep state that made him take the money last time.

He just did exact same things he did last time which exponentially cut traffic down compared to both Biden and Obama policies. You aren’t really interested in securing the American border.

Be careful: you're walking a fine line and perhaps even crossing over into the realm of common sense.

Do you honestly believe 1/6 of the total US budget is wrapped up in DEI contracts? Does that number make sense to you?
Easily, and I work in an industry involving federal dollars. The DBE contracts alone are unbelievable. The feds infused DEI shit into almost everything.
