It is a straight leather, and if you plan to treat that leather I'd recommend using Lowa's leather treatment. Other products are known to cause the rubber brand to separate from the leather, and you will avoid your warranty on those boots if you use another brand. Just an FYI!

Ok thanks, The website says Nubuck for the upper material ? And that’s all it says. Any idea if Nikwax products are bad? I have read they work on lowas good

Nikwax is a great product and might work well. I havent used it on the Tibet's. Again, just be aware of the potential for it to cause your rubber brand to delaminate. I've talked with Lowa's product team about this and while I dont know what specifically causes it to happen, it apparently is a common problem.

Which Nikwax product do you use? They have a Nubuck and a 100percent leather

I spray this on when the boots are wet as Lowa recommends. I have been using this stuff for years on my Tibet’s and hunters without issue.

How long have you had your boots?

I have a pair I've for about four years. I used sno-seal, and now they leak like a sieve.

I really like the Tibets but not wet feet!!

The Tibet’s are going on 6 years old. My hunters I have had 3 years and I bought them used. The Tibet’s aren’t very watertight anymore. The hunters are totally good.

My Lowas get Kenetrek boot wax, nothing else.
The petroleum in snow seal will eat the glue on the rubber rand and lowa will not warranty them. They told me the Kenetrek wax will not void the warranty.

I’ve been using Obenauf’s LP cream on my Tibet LL boots for several years now without any issues.

I been using snowseal for 3 years on my tibets with no issues yet. Might have to switch, was unaware of the rand problem.

I worked 3 seasons in the woods with tibets. They are still in ok shape considering I put my equipment through hell. I recently upgraded to a taller heavy hiker boot and now my feet actually stay dry in wet brush! I'm now a loyal crispi gtx guy.

Did they say if they changed glue. My first pair of Tibets I had zero issues with the rand and using Obenaufs. The pair I have now the rand delaminated. My buddy has a pair (not Tibets forget the model) his rand came of after a couple hikes with them. He sent them back got a new pair and the rand came off on that pair too. This is without using any conditioner. I have a new pair I’m going to use Lowa products on to see if it makes a difference.

I'm not sure if they changed the glue, but I dont believe so. I'm on my 3rd hard season with my tibets, which is longer tha. Most any boot I've ever used, and my rand is just starting to chip away. Any oil based shoe care product like obenaufs can cause the glue to come apart on that rand. Again, I have no idea what exactly causes it, but that's what I've been told.
