I hated them. Way too narrow, water proofing was poor, not enough support to actually help your foot/ ankle, but enough support to make hot spots and blisters. They also lasted <<500 miles before sole separation.
I’ve had a pair, if you like the Renegade mids you’ll like these. They suffer from the same problem I’ve had with the mids, that is the seams come apart after about 9 months of hard use on the sides of the foot box. I keep using Renegades because they can be ordered in a narrow width and are so comfortable. I go through a pair of mid height ones every 1/12 years but I use them a lot.
Im on season 3 on mine i think, I have Hiked, Hunted, checked trail cams and done just about everything in them. Best boot iv owned. The waterproofing in going on them so it will probably be the last season with them.
I really could use a insulated boot at times and looking at what else lowa has to offer.
I have a pair of uninsulated and insulated mid Renegades. Happy with both. Pretty sure the insulated model has been discontinued, haven’t seen any available in a while. I did replace the inserts on the uninsulated pair to get greater arch support (superfeet insoles). Had to size up on the insulated. Don’t subject them to harsh conditions (crossing creeks, deep mud, etc..) as I switch to my Lacrosse boots for that.
If your feet fit in them they are a really good boot.
I have beaten the hell out of many pairs and I agree with the comments that there are many possible failure points due to the many pieces of leather.
One thing that I did that helped with the water resistance was to put Aqua Seal on the seams. That and keeping them waxed helped but nothing is going to keep you totally dry except a rubber boot.
I would have continued to use them except my feet have gotten wider and my custom orthotics don't like them.
