im getting my girlfriend all setup to shoot some turkeys in a few weeks when it opens up, she is shooting great and we will be hunting out of a blind so the shots will be close and I have no worry of her putting it in the right place the problem is she is only pulling about 30# and her 7.5gpi arrows are light at only 22.5" long. What kind of broadheads should we try out? I shoot 2 blade rages myself but im afraid they wont get penetration with her setup, I am going to work hard to get her bow cranked down to as much pounds as she can pull by the time the season opens

At less then 20yds I'm sure 30#lbs is enough to cut the piss out of a turkey with a rage. If you're uncomfortable with that then just get some slicktrick magnums...

I'd go with slick tricks as well. At lower # and draw length (personally I don't care how close the shot is) expandable heads are out of the question. Even the 40 KE won't do it bc she doesn't have 40 foot pounds.

The other option is to forgo the option for a body shot and pick up some 100 gr Magnus Bullheads and head shoot!

I personally would not recommend a Rage at that poundage/arrow weight. Turkey feathers can be remarkably hard to cut, and I fear the open on impact actuation would result in insufficient penetration. A guide friend of mine had a woman bowhunter bounce an arrow off a tom's wing bone at 10 yards with a Muzzy head - the arrow made it almost all the way back to the blind.

My turkey arrow is 440 gr. at 275 fps with a 2 3/4" vortex and I rarely acheive full penetration.

Edit: the head shot option has some serious merit, just be mindful that those heads and blind mesh do not mix well.

Ya rages scare me with slower bows I saw my dad go for a spine shot on a slow bow and the feathers stopped the arrow without touching the skin the turkey walked about 20 yards with the arrow dangling from its back and when it fell out it didn't have a speck of blood, on the other hand the last tom I shot at a steep downhill angle had a wing and leg laying on the ground completely detached from the body
