Temporarily off the radar!
With the inversion table you gotta start slow! Cant just go upside down right away. Just like a work out or anything you have to build up slowly. I have a herniated L4 L5 and hypermobil SI joint. I do hvac remodel but now i am moving to a tech support role. I hate to tell you but you may need to look at the big picture and change work roles. I took a pay cut but being in a office i think will help me in the long run. Find a quality physical therapy center with med x machines. They work! Dont go nuts with the heavy pack in training save your back for the trip. Through my pt and exercise classes i have found that you can get a killer workout using no weight at all. Lose weight if you are heavy. Get an mri for sure. Do everything you can to avoid surgery! Align, stabilize, and then strengthen. I couldnt walk from sept til jan and have been out of work since 1-1-16. I am finally going back to my new role monday. And dont expect it to go away over night it take time and patients. Pm me if you have questions. My insurance payed 100% of my PT cause they dont want you to have surgery first.

I have the exact same issue. It's mostly likely a degenerative disk. Sounds like L5/S1 area to me. I have been dealing with it all week.,can't sleep or anything.,Mine flares u and its unbearable. The key is stretching. Many good ones have been mentioned here. Place ur but against a wall. Put your leg up and stretch the hammy.,Aldo on back , cross your leg over at knee. Grab knee and pull. Do these and other stretches for your body each day.,consider a roller also to work out restrictions. I'd u notice I are active working out and feeling good, then , that gets thrown off ( no work outs) it's probably a disk. X Ray will tell .

My problems start when I don't stretch daily. Also that irritation caused swelling.,ICE in ziplock directly on it. 30 minutes a few times a day

My goodness your story is so similar to mine! I particularly connected with the see-saw of pain and anxiety. I appreciate your vulnerability and it will help me continue to improve. Honestly I was having a rough day with back pain and I logged into the wiki, read your story along with one other and my pain decreased substantially. I was working through the pain set-backs and stories like yours. Then i contact Las vagus back doctor for the treatment and they get me rid of pain.

There is no miracle cure to what ails you. Pain meds should be used sparingly as that just masks the real issue. In the very beginning they can help out but long term is really not a solution. Good structured PT done every day is the way. You get exactly the results as you put into the recovery. It is some of the most taxing work one will ever do. Keep at it until you "no longer have a lower back." That is you forget at times that it was hurting in the first place. Never take "ownership" of an injury. They are just temporary setbacks that keep you focused on the road to full mission capability. What ever that mission might be!
