Any recommendations for loose-fitting, rugged hunting pants? Going to be in intermittent snow, so built-in kneepads would be helpful. "Athletic fit" tends to be too tight in the thighs especially for cold-weather work.

I love the SG dehavilands. Their newer version is definitely less “athletic”. They are bomb proof. They aren’t the quietest though, but great for rifle.

I have some Sitka Timberlines (I think that's the model). Anyway, they have reinforced knees, seat and knee pads. They've held up well.

I use sitka. They have the removable knee pads. They're not too tight or too baggy. Fit just right for me. And I can move comfortably in them. They have that athletic fit where I can climb mountains, but not tight like yoga pants lol.

And they come with suspenders too!

Maybe sweettalk @Brad@Argali into getting you an early pair of their new Torrex pants. I think he’s specifically trying to dial in the fit for those of us with the muscled thighs-tight waists. They look pretty slick.

I’ve personally been happy with my fjallraven keb trousers. But needed to size up before taking in the waistline. Good option for flexibility and knee pads.

I would not consider the timberlines loose fitting. I have thick thighs from lifting and my Kuiu attacks are much more loose fitting and comfortable without being obnoxious. That's my recommendation. Just wish they had something between the short and regular length.
